The duty of participation in democracy is a continuing process

Ask former MPs

  • Former Members of Parliament: make themselves available to speak to groups interested in Parliamentary democracy
  • make select committee submissions on constitutional and national issues
  • lend the value of their experience to the judgement of the time

The Association of Former Members of the Parliament of New Zealand has 150 former MP members from all political parties. It believes in maintaining and encouraging the system of Parliamentary government in New Zealand, and in educating New Zealanders to understand how Parliament works.
